Reduced and free admission
The following discounts apply at the official ticket counter and when booking online via CoopCulture. Third-party providers (GetYourGuide, Tiqets, Headout) have their own price structures - discounts cannot usually be booked separately.
Free of charge: Under 18
Children and young people under the age of 18 are admitted to Castel Sant'Angelo free of charge all year round. A valid ID with date of birth must be shown at the entrance.
Reduced: EU citizens 18-25
EU citizens between the ages of 18 and 25 only pay €2 admission. A valid EU ID with date of birth is sufficient as proof at the entrance.
Free of charge: First Sunday of the month
On the first Sunday of every month, admission to Castel Sant'Angelo is free for all visitors. The crowds are particularly high on these days - early arrival is recommended.
Free of charge: Disability + accompanying person
EU citizens with a recognized disability receive free admission; the original proof of disability (e.g., the German disability card) must be presented at the entrance. Under the Italian decree, the exemption for an accompanying person applies only if the person is a family member or belongs to a social-medical care service. Free tickets cannot be booked online—they are issued at the ticket office.
Special Rate: First Monday of the Month
As part of the „I lunedì di Castello“ event, Castel Sant’Angelo is open from August through December on the first Monday of each month in the afternoon, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Admission is €5 and must be paid in cash at the ticket window.
